It's not news that the Redmi Note 6 pro will come with the same processor as its big predecessor, the Redmi Note 5 (Pro). Although, the question may arise, if they want to keep the Redmi series' pricing, what other SoC could be included? SD660 certainly not, that's the top end. Certainly not MTK Helio P22, that will be in the sima or the "A" marked. Well, there is no other...

In a way, the Redmi Note 6 Pro will be a facelift for the Redmi Note 5. The SoC is now confirmed, as the phone has been released on Geekbench.

The Geekbench page doesn't reveal too much yet, just a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636, 4GB RAM and Android 8.1.0 base. So, the Redmi Note 6 Pro will be practically no better in performance than the Redmi Note 5 (Pro), it will just carry a few new features. Full screen, 6.26″ diagonal and 19:9 aspect ratio, FHD+ resolution. Expect RAM/ROM pairing to start at 3/32 already and 4/64 is the bigger one, but it's not inconceivable that it will be bigger. The rear camera is likely to remain the good old 12/5MP split with AI support, however, a dual camera module will be added up front as a new feature, which will be 20 and 2MP. The battery could stay at 4,000 mAh, fingerprint on the back and metal casing. It will also be available in black, gold, pink, blue and red.
