Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro - 19:9 aspect ratio, Snapdragon 625, Notch

The first Xiaomi in the world to have a notch is the small island at the top edge of the screen. What's it for? Fashion? Is it a knock-off? Well, what it's for, don't ask me, but at most it's so that the top edge of the notch can be thin and the little island that slides in can be the front sensors and camera. Yes, fashion. Apple has started the biggest marketing machine to push this solution, even though they didn't invent it. And hence the fact that everyone is now tapping the apple. Yes, Xiaomi is the Chinese Apple, but it wasn't always like this...

So Redmi 6 Pro! What is the SD625 good for? Not to push this phone to the limit, for example. It should have been at least SD636! Black dot! For average use it's still just fine, but don't try to play games or do more than one thing at a time, because it will hang!

Notch... well. We didn't make friends in a week, we never will. Notification icons nuku, love to see the Christmas tree above and know what's waiting. The icons are compressed around the edges, for the more visually impaired it will be blurry. 19:9 aspect ratio is not supported by anything, in fact sometimes the app couldn't even fill the screen. When exiting apps, sometimes the previous image flashed when trying to clear the screen. Annoying.

Camera is superb! Just like the Redmi Note 5. Once again, we don't want to test the same thing unnecessarily, but I would just add that due to the weak SoC, we don't want to take HDR shots without a tripod after twilight, because by the time it processes what we see, your hand will definitely move and the picture will be washed out.

4.000 mAh battery is the best thing about this phone. The little proci barely eats and, based on my experience so far, it lasts twice as long as my current Mi 5s in its heyday (3,200 mAh). So that's a red dot. I was glad that I didn't have to charge it on the way home from work, and I could have just left it charging the next day, because it was between 60-50% when we retired in the evening.

To sum up. Unlike the above, I am satisfied with the phone. Overall. Those small bugs, or even huge ones like the notch, don't affect everyday use that much, you can snap, take photos, text, make calls and even play a little bit. MIUI10 adds to that feeling, as it's designed for this phone.

Have fun!

The Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro is now available for purchase in your local store with a 2-year Hungarian warranty from XiaomiShop from the online store.
