Pictures of a mysterious Xiaomi phone have emerged today. Based on the pictures, we'd vote for the Xiaomi Redmi 5!
There have been leaks of a new Redmi phone before, so this could be it. The phone in the picture clearly shows that it follows the Redmi series' design technology. On the back is a rather large camera lens with a dual-tone LED flash, while on the front is the selfie camera and the usual capacitive buttons at the bottom.
The rumoured Xiaomi Redmi 5 has a 5-inch display and interestingly, it is not running MIUI, but another traditional Chinese system, the Yun OS. On the About phone page, you can read that it's powered by a 2GHz ARM processor and has dual SIM, like all Redmi phones.
There is no talk of Xiaomi releasing another Redmi base version at the moment, although another mysterious Xiaomi device, the Jason, has surfaced recently. As it's running a genuine Chinese system from the start, although we don't understand why a Xiaomi isn't running MIUI, it's surely only intended for the home market.
