Xiaomi held a major launch on 11 September, where 3 products were revealed. a Mi MIX 2 was a certainty, and there were plenty of rumours and leaks. A Mi Note 3-There was also increasingly certain information about the. But the third newcomer was a surprise, which was not known until days before the presentationto be presented by Xiaomi. It was the Mi Notebook Pro, which was also the first to be unveiled. The manufacturer's first premium notebook with a 15.6-inch screen and the world's first with an 8th-generation Core i7 processor.

Xiaomi Notebook Pro - Design, cooling, ergonomics

The Mi Notebook Pro still has a minimalist design, but now the laptop is more powerful than before. The company has used a magnesium alloy frame for the bracing, which is impressive to see.

How was it demoted? Xiaomi's own Ninebot drove its passenger over the notebook several times, and the notebook survived the ordeal unscathed.

For the time being, the device is available in one colour (dark grey), which gives it a very stylish look during a business meeting. It weighs 1.95 kg, which doesn't put it among the lightest Ultrabooks, but it's still a manageable weight. Several innovations have been incorporated into the design. One of the special features inside is the cooling system, which features larger heat pipes and recessed symmetrical fans of increased size. This ensures that the temperature of the laptop always remains ideal.

Mi Notebook Pro is large 15.6-inch ( 72% NTSC colour gamut) FullHD has a screen Gorilla© Glass 3 protection and 6,52 mm-with narrow frames. The display gives the user a real premium feel. The longitudinal bezels aren't as thin as the Dell XPS 15 (2017), but considering the Xiaomi Notebook Air series - this is a drastic improvement.

Other features of Mi Notebook Pro include a full-size keyboard and fingerprint unlock.

The keyboard has undergone a big change. Unfortunately no numeric keypad, although the notebook's 15.6″ size would justify it. Compared to the Air series, the Xiaomi Notebook Pro's keyboard colour has been changed to black, instead of silver or gold for the matte finish. The keyboard travel has been improved, now 1.5mm. Fortunately, the keyboard is still a full-size, professional backlit.

The best part is that the spacing between the arrow keys has increased, and buttons such as Home, End, Pg Up, and Pg Dn have been included. The symmetrical layout provides a similar user experience to the desktop keyboard.

Xiaomi proudly compares its notebook to Apple's MacBook Pro 2017. The notebook is 1.5mm thinner than the MacBook Pro. Xiaomi has placed two full-featured Type-C ports, 2 USB 3.0 ports, a 3-in-1 microSD slot, an HDMI port and a 3.5mm audio jack on either side of the notebook body. The connectivity layout is much better than any other 15.6-inch notebook, including the Dell XPS 15, HP Specter 15, Macbook Pro and Asus Zenbooks.

Xiaomi Notebook Pro - The hardware

The latest on the specifications of the new notebook, the Xiaomi Notebook Pro 8th generation Intel®Core i5 / i7 processzora, 4 cores on 8 fibres runs, and up to 4GHz-can also be achieved. The previous leak was true.

Mi Notebook Pro is available in three different versions:

  • Core i7 / 16 GB RAM
  • Core i7 / 8 GB RAM
  • Core i5 / 8 GB RAM

The Both 8 and 16 GB versions are dual-channel DDR4 (2400 MHz) memory modules.
It also comes with a 256 GB PCI-E/NVMe SSD (expandable due to the dual socket), a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics card, and two 802.11ac Wi-Fi antennas.

As you can see from the illustrations, performance will not be a problem. It's perfect as a business machine, but you won't be embarrassed by small Photoshop jobs, or even editing 1080p/4K videos, but you can also do 3D rendering on Xiaomi's most powerful notebook.

The battery charge can be up to 60 watts, the 1C fast chargingsupports.
Charging the 50% battery takes just 35 minutes.

Xiaomi Notebook Pro - Pricing

The top version of the laptop with Core i7 + 16 GB of RAM is 6999 yuan ($ 1076). The other two versions are Core i7 + 8 GB RAM and Core i5 + 8 GB RAM at 6399 yuan ($984) and 5599 yuan ($860) respectively.
There is no news about distribution in Hungary yet. However, it will be available from EU warehouses soon, and by choosing the EU Express service you can save on other charges. No Hungarian keyboard, we'll have to settle for English. Comes with optional Chinese/English Windows 10 operating system.
