Xiaomi Mi Max 2 comes with a battery so big it could be a PowerBank, another PLETYKA!

Xiaomi will officially launch the Mi Max 2 at an event scheduled for tomorrow. One last, unquotable rumour that surfaced before the phablet launch was that it will feature a USB-C type port that supports reverse charging. The leaked image testifies that it is possible to connect an iPhone 7 to the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 via an OTG cable, which actually charges it. From this we can conclude that the Mi Max 2 is charging the iPhone with reverse charging.

Well, it would be a fantastic option if the Mi Max 2 could connect to a phablet-sized mobile device with OTG functionality, so buyers could also get a huge PowerBank that could come in handy one day if they really need to charge something. USB-OTG is a good thing, if the Mi Max 2 could do this, it could not only charge another smartphone, but other gadgets such as camera, MiBand and more.

While we can't say if this is indeed true, it fits well with an earlier rumor that the Mi Max 2 will feature a large 5,349 mAh battery, which is higher than its large 4,850 mAh battery packed predecessor. This is a battery of that size, which would be sufficient to power the device and charge other gadgets. But we'd advise you not to believe this for a second, because the whole charging cable isn't visible, so we're just guessing that it's the Mi Max 2 that actually charges an iPhone.

In addition, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is equipped with Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 660 chip, which is nowadays very power efficient as from base model, which features the same efficient Snapdragon 626 chip. Other features include a 4GB + 64GB version and a larger 6GB + 128GB version. The Xiaomi phablet is expected to come with a 12MP Sony IMX378 rear camera and a 5MP selfie camera. As for the price, a previous rumor hinted that the price of the Mi Max 2 had to be adjusted slightly, but it will still be between 1499 yuan and 1699 yuan, but will not exceed 1999 yuan.
