Recalling last year's event revealing Mi A1, we can expect this year the Chinese version as well, after Mi 6X, the latest member of Android One, the Mi A2. Among the lots of rumours, the real information that can be taken for granted concerning the phone, is the hardware and the software: Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, not MIUI, stock Android 8.1 etc.., we'll summarise it later. Since Mi 6X was launched in April, there have been continuous guesses about when and where it will be launched. If Mi 5X follows the example of Mi A1, then it is expected to be revealed in September.

The date of Xiaomi Mi A2's launch event

Do you remember the advertisement about signing up to be a Mi Explorer? You could apply for the Global event held in Spain on 24 July and Xiaomi takes the expenses of your getting there from anywhere in the world. Yes, it is also a possible date and venue for Mi A2's launch event, although we expected it to be that of Mi 8 Global but anything can happen.

Xiaomi Mi A2 Price

No official information is available, only a Swiss website suggests prices of the future device. According to them, Mi A2 32GB will cost 289 CHF ~ 80,695 HUF, the 64GB is said to carry a price tag of 329 CHF ~ 91,865 HUF and the 128GB is tipped to come at a price of 369 CHF ~ 103,030 HUF. This is not authoritative as taxes in Switzerland are totally different from the ones in Hungary and we cannot guess anything based on Chinese prices, either.

Xiaomi Mi A2 specifications

In the same way as in the case of its predecessor, Mi A2 will be almost the same as Mi 6X. Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, 4/6GB RAM, 32/64/128GB ROM, 5.99″ 18:9 FHD+ screen, dual rear camera 12+20MP, 20MP selfie camera, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, fingerprint scanner, 3,010 mAh battery with support QuickCharge 3.0. It is said to come in five colour variants that include Red, Gold, Pink, Blue and Black.

Xiaomi Mi A2 software

As we can see in the image above and meeting the expectations, Mi A2 will come with Android 8.1.0, the latest system of Android One with May security patch. We hope it will get Android P update soon. We have even higher hopes that it will be stable and bug free.
