While Android 13 is a very important operating system update that we're all talking about, we can't ignore Android TV either.

Android TV is the operating system that powers many media streaming devices. Including Xiaomi's TVs, the Mi Stick and the Mi Box. Android TV 12 is a significant step forward in the development of the Android Compared to TV 11, it offered some new features and improvements.

Redesigned user interface and introduced 4K UI rendering and support for dynamic refresh rate switching. Now we've revealed egiyk's first Android TV 13 feature: the new "low power standby" mode.

The primary function of "low power standby" mode is to limit applications while the device is in standby mode. While this mode is active, it turns off WiFi. Due to the nature of Android TV, this is a very useful feature. Users are not really interested in notifications from their TV, especially when the TV screen is off.

Last year, Android TV 12 was released on devices a month after Android 12 was released. We expect a similar schedule this time around, and then again it will take longer for manufacturers to roll it out to their devices. For example, NVIDIA has actually skipped the Android 10 update altogether, instead switching from Android 9 to Android 11, and the Xiaomi has done the same.

In other words, if Android 13 is a minor update, it's easy for companies to do the same thing again. We'll have to wait and see.
