Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 debuts in Redmi Note 12 Turbo

Xiaomi and Qualcomm have a long-standing friendship and more than once a new SoC has debuted in a Xiaomi or Redmi phone. This time is no different and Qualcomm has announced that the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 will make its world debut in the Redmi Note 12 Turbo phone.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 processor is Qualcomm's latest mobile processordesigned specifically for high-end smartphones. This new processor is an updated version of the previous Snapdragon 7+ processor, offering even greater performance and efficiency.

The processor uses Qualcomm's latest 6th generation AI engine, capable of up to 12 TOPS (trillion operations per second) AI performance. This AI engine further improves the performance of smartphone sensors and cameras and optimises power consumption for longer battery life.

The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 processor uses Qualcomm's new Kryo 680 CPU, which offers 20% more performance and up to 30% better power efficiency than the previous version. The new processor also supports the latest Wi-Fi 6E and 5G networking technologies, as well as Qualcomm's latest Quick Charge 5+ fast charging technology.

Smartphones with the new second-generation Snapdragon 7+ processor are expected to offer better performance, longer battery life and faster internet connections. Energy efficiency was also an important consideration in the development of the new Snapdragon processor. Thanks to energy-efficient technologies, battery life is longer, so users can enjoy their devices for longer without worrying about power consumption.

Redmi Note 12 Turbo

The second generation Snapdragon 7+ processor was officially launched this afternoon at Qualcomm's Snapdragon New Product Launch Conference. From the conference page, I learned that Lu Weibing, CEO of Xiaomi Redmi brand, announced that the Redmi Note 12 Turbo mobile phone will feature the second-generation Snapdragon 7+ processor for the first time in the world.

Redmi has released an official poster announcing that it will launch the Redmi Note 12 Turbo this month , with the slogan "Flagship Experience Super Speed Popularity". So no word yet on the new phone, but it will probably be an improved version of the Redmi Note 12 Pro+.
