The split screen is not new to many, since the Mi Max 2 phone debuted in July 2017 in the Chinese developer's ruin. Since then, many phones have already received the new MIUI9 feature in their developer ruins, Chinese, global, multi and of course the Hungarian ruins. But! Many people, and I mean many people, are just getting to know the new and incredible features of MIUI9, as the stable branch has only recently reached the stage where all devices have it. Unfortunately, as you may have read in the last few days, not everyone has it yet, but it's promised to everyone this month. Well let's see another key feature, the Split Screen.

Split screen allows you to display the applications you already have open, but only two of them, by splitting the screen. All you need to do is open the two applications you want to display, one after the other, or one that you have already opened but not deleted from memory. So once you're in the apps toggle - Menu button for short - tap the Split screen text at the top left, then select the app you want to be on top. Grab it with your finger and drag it up. Once it's there, select the app you want to use at the bottom of the screen. Just tap on that and it will open at the bottom. How simple is that?

Split screen windows are not fixed in size. You can resize the two windows at the same time by dragging the strip separating the two screens up and down by the small white strip in the middle. This sets which window should be larger or smaller.

If you want to swap the two windows, all you have to do is double-tap the small white stripe in the middle of the black bar separating the two screens. The windows will then be swapped.

An easy way to exit split screen mode is to reopen the running applications - Menu button for short - and tap the floating notification at the top that says "Exit split screen mode". Then the top app will be full screen. Let's put this into practice, slowly showing you visually what it means.

However, not all applications support split screen yet or will. MIUI9 reminds us of this in a floating bubble.

On the other hand, it can be fun to watch your favourite video while you play.
