If you ride a bicycle, scooter, electric scooter, tricycle or car, you know how much inconvenience a flat or half-down wheel can cause. The easiest thing to do is to grab a pump and fix the problem at home (perhaps after a crust change), rather than making a trip to a garage or petrol station. With traditional manual tools, on the other hand, it can take a long time, and you can also sweat, which is not a good thing if you have to go to school, work or any other public place afterwards. But there's a solution to this now, called a mobile compressor or mobile pump, which are designed for just such occasions.
These machines are now available in Hungarian shops, and one of the most popular is the Xiaomi Mi Portable Air Pump product. This model, by the way, is primarily intended for the electric rolling but it can also be used with the other vehicles listed above, and even to blow up balls.
The electric mobile compressors are designed to be compact, small and lightweight. There are some that look like a gun or a drill, some that are traditional pump-shaped machines, and some that at first glance look like a lacquer or a CB radio. The point is really to be able to pack them easily into a bag, and they shouldn't weigh too much so that they don't break your back and arms. The Xiaomi product I mentioned earlier, for example, is 12.4 centimetres high, 4.1 centimetres thick and 7.1 centimetres wide, so it's mobile enough without taking up too much space. It is also important to make sure that the product is drop-proof, so that it can be used even in pouring rain.
Treatment
You should choose a model with an LCD display, as this will make it much easier to use. Such a product also makes it easy to check the tyre pressure before starting. All models have a manual control of the amount of air injected into the wheel, and there are even products with preset profiles. So all you have to do is press the scooter, bike or car icon and the device will emit a corresponding amount of air, continuously measuring the pressure in the connected device. This can obviously be very useful, as there are many people who don't know the required values by heart, but can now trust the automatic system to do the job.
Of course, it also helps if the markings are clear and the LCD display is large enough so that you don't have to hold it directly in front of your eyes to see anything. It is best to have a device that even a child can easily manage, as they may need it. Most of these models end in a flexible tube with a car valve at the end as part of the factory fitting. We recommend that, if possible, everyone should choose a versatile mobile pump, provided that this valve is interchangeable and that the product box includes a needle valve for balls and a valve for bicycles.
Power and energy
You need a tool that is strong enough. In other words, it should be able to exert at least 10 bar or 150 psi, which is perfectly sufficient for everyday needs. Such a device can even be used to inflate a car wheel. It's not like the Xiaomi Mi Portable Air Pump, which is really small and can do more than that. With this, a single car tyre, for example blown to rock hard in five minutes. Anyone who's ever tried to do this with the strength of their legs, let alone their hands, knows what a feat this is.
While we are on the subject, it is also worth mentioning energy supply. A mobile pump, unlike a conventional compressor, must have an integrated battery. In the woods or on the road, you will rarely find sockets. The compact housing limits the possibilities considerably, but such a device must have a battery with a storage capacity of at least 1500 mAh.
That's enough to inflate four car tyres or 12-15 bicycles without charging.
Is it useful?
After all, there is no question that a mobile compressor or mobile electric pump makes sense. If the device works properly and meets the requirements mentioned above, it can be clearly stated that it is a useful device that can claim a place in any Hungarian household.
