The Mi Mix 2 launch has already been officially announced and will take place on 11 September in Beijing. We already know quite a few things about it, but now ahead of the launch, the biggest leak is currently appearing on Weibo. If it's real, it's really going to be there!
This image that appeared on the Mi Mix 2 Settings - About page then that's not the screenshot. The phone has been photographed from the side, making it more authentic as you can see the thin bezel that is unique to the Mi Mix 2. The most striking is the first one on the processor panel is the 836. This would be the Snapdragon 836 which hasn't shown up anywhere else so far. Could it debut in the new Xiaomi phone? But it's due to be unveiled in October with the Android Pixel 2. Then comes the battery, with an incredible 4,400 mAh! 20 MP camera, 6.2″ screen with 2960×1440 resolution. And here's the other most interesting feature of the phone, it will come with Android 8 as the base system. This is incredible for the moment, as even 7 hasn't really come to Xiaomi phones, are they already jumping on 8? We'll find out in 10 days.
The last thing that comes out of the picture is the internal storage, which is 256 GB in this case. If there are two versions, this is the bigger one, as rumours are talking about 6/128 and 8/256 variants. As for the camera, I would add that, although only according to the rumours, it will be a dual lens like the Mi6, Mi5X, Redmi Note 5A. If we take into account the promotions that can be seen on Xiaomi's site, they are creating a new dual camera family and it could be Mi Mix 2 will be included in it.
Since neither the Snapdragon 836 nor the Android 8 based MIUI9 has been announced, these pictures could be clever manipulations, well done Photoshop jobs. So be mindful of that and don't take this as cash either.
