While we are all waiting with bated breath for the launch of the Xiaomi Mi6, another Xiaomi surprise may be waiting for us!
Xiaomi Mi Max 2 images were published today on Chinese news outlets, suggesting that today we can expect not only the Mi6 flagship, but also an update to the big budget phablet.
The original Xiaomi Mi Max was a surprising starter device from Xiaomi, and remains the largest smartphone launched by the phone maker to date. The updated model will be similarly high-profile, with a few design and build innovations.
The new Xioami Mi Max 2 is said to retain a 6.44-inch, 1920 x 1080 display, perfect for watching movies, while the package gets an upgrade to Snapdragon 626 and 4GB of RAM, making it a great device for mobile gaming too. If that's not enough, a Snapdragon 660 plus 6 GB of RAM version is also rumoured!
The upgrades are throttled by a new 12-megapixel Sony IMX378 rear camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, while all versions of the phablet retain the large 5000mAh battery. The Mi Max 2 image also shows that the new phone has dual LED flash and a rear fingerprint reader, which is a great addition compared to the original version.
The price of the Xioami Mi Max 2 starts at 1499 yuan and can go up to 1699 yuan.
