The Xiaomi solar phone is coming!

Recently, Xiaomi filed a new patent with the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Office) for a Xiaomi phone with a solar panel module.

The Letsgodigital page always puts together visually, fortunately, patents like this... So looking at the patent graphics, we're not looking at a top phone, but an entry-level small device. Although we don't know anything about it yet other than what we see in the pictures, the dual rear camera doesn't put it in the top category. While there is no sensor or camera island on the front, and even the top view picture doesn't have a motorized solution, it really could just be a sketch. Although if it's a very remote device, it's not inconceivable that there's a selfie camera under the screen!

Something like this must be imagined. Notchless, full-screen, dual camera, under-screen fingerprint reader. It will be interesting when we have the data on how such a small solar cell performs when charging. But if we manage to do this with the quality that everyone expects from Xiaomi, we will no longer have to think about taking an external battery to the beach or outdoors...

This would not be the first attempt in the world, Samsung already released the Guru E1107 model in 2009, available in Hungary, and a year later LG also tried a Solar Cell PCB-100 accessory for its Pop GD510 phone.
