TikTok is testing paid content - confirmed ByteDance, the owner of the platform, to the TechCrunch at the request of.

TikTok has become a cultural phenomenon, one billion monthly active users, it has become one of the most popular social networking sites in the world. To achieve the perfect social experience, the developers are doing everything they can, constantly building and tweaking the site, and now they are adding another solution to the repertoire, where subscribers can get exclusive content and content producers can earn extra revenue.

As reported in the The Information reported at, later officially confirmed by TikTok, they are testing a pay-for-view system where the content producer can charge for each video. It is not yet clear how this would be implemented, including whether it would be possible to subscribe to full creator accounts or only to certain content. The pay-per-view feature is currently only available to a limited group of users.

TikTok is not the only one, however, where the decision-makers are trying to make the site more profitable by offering a paid solution. Instagram has already begun testing a system in the US where content producers can increase their regular monthly revenue by offering extra live streams, stories and badges to subscribed followers.

Twitter was the first to introduce a paid solution: the Super Follows allows site users to subscribe to certain content producer accounts, giving them access to exclusive content they have created.
