In a few days, the Xiaomi Mi 5X will be unveiled, along with the latest version 9 of MIUI. If you're an old MIUI fan, you'll be familiar with previous MIUI releases, old versions and old looks. However, in our country, the demand for this great brand has increased significantly only in the last 1-2 years and new users may have only seen MIUI7. So let's see how the home pages of the different versions looked like, how MIUI's look has changed over the years. Here's a little MIUI history lesson.

2010 - MIUI V1

The first version of MIUI was released back in 2010 on the then Android Froyo 2.2.x platform. The MIUI was based on Android AOSP, with custom applications added.

2010 - MIUI V2

The second edition is based on the same basis, with a slightly redesigned interface.

2011 - MIUI V3

Android 2.3.x basics, improved interface, which can now be individually themed!

2012 - MIUI V4

Android 4.0.x - 4.1.x basics, own antivirus application.

2013 - MIUI V5 (Personal favourite)

Based on Android 4.1.x - 4.4.4. It was the longest running Android system and the first to take the world by storm. MIUI entered our country with version 5, when MIUI Hungary and its forum was launched, which is now the largest Xiaomi community, and from then on, our country became an official partner of Xiaomi.

2014 - MIUI V6

Perhaps the biggest change in the history of MIUI was MIUI 6, with a completely overhauled interface and not just at the theme level. Android version has also jumped at last to 5.0.2.

2015 - MIUI V7

The version with the widest android base, from 4.4.4 to 6.0.

2016 - MIUI V8

The most controversial MIUI yet. With great difficulty, Android 7, the Nougat base, was released, to the delight and detriment of many...

2017 - MIUI V9

Most phones with supported processors will get the Android 7 Nougat base, the rest will unfortunately remain older, but it's not inconceivable that they will still manage to make it for all currently running devices later. MIUI9 backwards to the Xiaomi Mi2/2s will be available on all phones without exception, including tablets!

Are you looking forward to the new MIUI?
