The Chinese company will continue this year, with a series of official Mi stores opening around the world. Yesterday it opened its first authorized Mi store in the Philippines, located next to Cinema 5 on the fourth floor of Quezon City's TriNoma Mall.
Although the Mi Store in the Philippines is not directly operated by Xiaomi (subcontractor), the store only sells Xiaomi branded products. It is not limited to smartphones as the shelves also feature other products such as Xiaomi laptops, Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaner, Mi Router, Mi Dash Camera, Mi Box, MIJIA Smart IP Camera, Mi Band 2, Mi Air Purifier, Electric Scooter and many more.
The opening of the Mi Store was greeted by a huge crowd of fans, some of whom were able to be outside the store as early as 5am. Due to the large turnout, fans queued in long lines to be among the first to experience Xiaomi's wide range of innovative products, and early risers were the first to receive products on opening day. There are indications that a second Mi store will soon open in the Philippines. The embassy may push Xaiomi to open Mi Stores in other cities such as Cebu and Davaon.
