Xiaomi started the day today with a very special bike, the Mi Qicycle Mountain Bike. It's special because it's packed with features not typically found on a regular mountain bike. It's designed as a mountain bike for hiking, so Xiaomi took that into account when designing it and gave it the right features.
The Mi Qicycle Mountain Bike has external dimensions of 1650 x 235 x 785 mm and thanks to its aluminium frame, it weighs only 13.6 kg. The wheels are 27.5 mm wide, just like the frame. The mechanicals are no skimp either, the Mi Qicycle has 11-speed gears, hydraulic Shimano brakes front and rear and a hydraulic front telescopic fork.
Like all Xiaomi devices, this mountain bike has smart features. It has a built-in LBS, Location based Services, which uses GPS and AGPS to determine the position of your bike, plus a Chinese SIM so you can check its location at any time. This can come in very handy when it comes to theft! The gadget is of course capable of tracking your route and, with the right app, checking your performance, speed, route, etc., and you can also set the maximum distance you can travel so you don't exceed your daily limit. The smart gadget's duty cycle can't be complained about, it can be charged via standard micro USB with the built-in 2500 mAh battery, which takes about 2 hours to charge and lasts up to 15 days on a single charge.
The Qicycle Mounten Bike is the cheapest in the family so far. There's the hyper-super-expensive R1 at 3000 $, or the folding urban wire bicycle at 455 $. Compared to those, 1999 Yuan, which is about 300 $, is really not money, even in HUF (78.000 Ft). A quick look around and you'll find the price of a regular, better Monti at home.
