The Volcano API-We first saw it at the launch of the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite and since then there has been a lot of silence about the new graphics engine. The Vulkan targets high-performance real-time 3D graphics applications such as video games and interactive media across all platforms. Compared to OpenGL and Direct3D 11 , as well as Direct3D 12 and Metal technology , Vulkan delivers higher performance and more balanced CPU/GPU utilization.

Yesterday, Xiaomi officially announced that 12 of its models now support the "Honor of Kings"Vulkan version, which is nhe official launch a few days ago, showcasing the deepening collaboration between the Honor of Kings and Qualcomm Snapdragon series in terms of technology.

Qualcomm and Honor of Kings' deep technical optimisation allows game developers and gamers to take full advantage of Qualcomm's Adreno GPU on the mobile platform for more efficient graphics and lower power consumption. In addition, developers can design more expressive game graphics and players will get a more stable and smoother FPS experience.

For example, for some models, the total CPU load of the Vulkan version of the Honor of Kings has been reduced by 30% compared to the multi-core multi-threaded version. The energy efficiency ratio is also higher (even for high frame rate HD display effects).

The Vulkan version of the game is supported on Xiaomi Mi MIX 3, Mi Explorer Edition, Mi 8 Pro, Mi 8, Mi 8 SE, Mi MIX 2S, Mi MIX 2, Mi 6, Mi Note 3, Mi 6X, and Redmi Note 5.
