From Facebook to Meta, Telenor to Yettel, Mi Fit to Zepp Life, it seems to be a time of name changes. From now on, that's the name to look for in the Xiaomi smartwatch app.

A few years ago the From Amazfit Zepp and now Mi Band users can feel the impact of this, as far as the app itself is concerned. Instead of the familiar Mi Fit, you now have to search for the bracelet's app in the Google Play store under the name Zepp Life.

The name Zepp itself comes from Amazfit, which has now changed its name to Zepp. This Xiaomi sub-brand, especially the Huami sub-brand, is a key part of the ecosystem. The Amazfit smartwatches and smartstraps have been sold under the name Xiaomi Amazfit, referring to the Xiaomi tie-in.

While the Mi Fit app, which supports "Mi" smartwatches and smart bracelets, has become Zepp Life, it still supports existing Mi devices, including the previously released Mi Bands.

The interface of the app will remain the same, but the name and logo will be updated. The Mi Fit app will automatically change to the Zepp Life app during an update. The latest Mi Fit app is version 5.6.0 and will be updated to Zepp Life version 6.0.0. The next Band 7 series is expected to run the app compatible Zepp operating system.

The latest Zepp app has also taken down the Smart Band 7: the source code reveals what the new smart bracelet will look like.
