This year's Consumer Electronics Show, or CES for short, is in full swing, where manufacturers showcase their latest technical innovations. The bad news is that Xiaomi is not directly represented, but its name pops up from time to time on other products, such as the Oculus VR Go and Xiaomi Mi VR Standalone launched this morning for virtual headsets.

The 90Fun Puppy1 smart suitcase, or self-propelled suitcase, has the huge advantage of freeing you from having to carry your stuff around and you can do anything else with your hands free. Right? How many of us have dragged our heavy soother along, one hand busy and of course the suitcase arm is always lower than would be comfortable. Our hands hurt, our waists ache... Well that's all over now, as the suitcase above has debuted at CES with a self-propelled suitcase that can follow us around using Segway technology.

As we all know, Segway is the world's leading supplier of mobile robotics solutions and as is well known, it is owned by Ninebot, which is of course owned by Xiaomi. So it is a bit of a stretch to say that the suitcase is a solution based on Xiaomi technology.

The suitcase is not only equipped with tracking sensors, but can also be controlled with the included remote control if you need to navigate difficult terrain, which makes for some smiling situations in the video above. Although it's yet to be seen how it behaves when loaded up, as the high-tech suitcase won't be officially unveiled until tomorrow.

True, it's not Xiaomi, but it's a very promising idea, especially as the technology it uses is already quite mature. The 90Fun Puppy1 will be available later this year, with sales likely to start in the second half of the year, but unfortunately we don't know anything about its price yet. It could even be Xiaomi... :)
