They just tore Mi BAnd 2 to shreds. So let's see.

Ever since Mi Band was launched, I bet everyone is waiting to finally get theirs! In the meantime, here's a demonstration where an insider snapped up a copy for us.

Kép

The Mi Band 2 strap is made from the same material as the Mi-Band 1 strap, but is a little softer and more flexible. Meanwhile, the buckle and holes on Mi Band 2 have been redesigned to make it easier to wear and take off.

Kép

The buckle is finely coated with aluminium.
You can find the same surface treatment on CDs.

Kép

The Mi Band 2 also displays most of the data on its display.

Kép

In the centre of the strap is the redesigned hole into which the capsule is inserted. It has an extra lining to prevent and protect the capsule from falling out and thus falling off.

Kép

A key difference from the Mi Band 1 is the display that shows time, heart rate, sports data and sleep data. The other functions remain the same.

Kép

The MI Band 2 capsule is designed to be IP67 water resistant, so it took a lot of force and time to disassemble it.

Kép

Inside the capsule you will find a PCB motherboard in which the OLED display, the processor, the gyroscope sensor and other things are integrated.

Kép

When switched on, you will not see the edge of the information screen as there is a coating on the top of the capsule. Below the display is a capacitive button to switch between different settings and menus. The surface of the capacitive button is similar to that of the buckle.

Kép

Mi Band 2 uses an OLED display to show time and fitness data. The advantages of OLED displays are self-illuminating organic compound, no backlighting layer film layer and energy saving. High visibility and more responsive!

Kép

Mi Band 2 also supports heart rate monitoring. The heart rate module is connected to the PCB via a cable. It uses an optical measurement method, scans blood vessels with a sensitive LED photodiode and measures heart rate based on the absorption of green light in the blood.

Kép

Most of the holes are sealed with hot glue to ensure water resistance. This means that, when installed, it requires no small amount of tedious scrubbing work.

Kép

The lithium battery and the vibration motor are located on the back of the PCB board.
Officially, the Mi Band 2 has a battery capacity of 70mAh, which gives it around 20 days of battery life.

Kép

On the back of the display is a printed circuit board, which is connected to the display via a cable. Here there is a small sponge between the stylus and the printed circuit board, near which there is a capacitive button.

Kép

In summary, Mi Band 2 has improved in a lot of areas compared to Mi Band 1. The build quality has improved and the look has become more stylish. Even so h that it is priced at RMB 149 (about $ 23), it is always very worth it to get one!
