It is for sure that tomorrow according to Hungarian time, at last the BlackShark Gamer phone from Xiaomi is to be introduced but this morning the company has announced to launch a new phone on 25 of April 2018.
The press conference was reported on Weibo, there is not going to be a great hullabaloo, but it is going to take place at Wuhan University to an invited audience. True that the poster does not reveal the name of the phone, but no doubt that Mi 6X will be launched. Mi7, which we are really looking forward to, will be unveiled at a much larger event.
Based on the information of TENAA, the Xiaomi Mi 6X will feature a 5.99-inch display with the usual specificatons: a resoulution of 1260×1080 (FHD+), 18:9 aspect ratio etc…..
However, there are contradictory rumours about the processor. Theoretically, it will feature an octa-core SoC running 2.2 GHz, which can be Snapdragon 626, 630 and 660. It will only turn out on 25 of April. The other parameters correspond to the latest trends, 4 and 6 GB of RAM and 64 and 128 of ROM. We still know nothing about colours. The camera is rumoured to be extended compared to the predecessor. There is going to be a 20MP front-facing selfie snapper (Sony IMX376) and the dual camera setup at the back of the phone is 12MP (Sony IMX486) + 20MP(Sony IMX376). The battery capacity has not been expanded thanks to Android 8.1, the 2910mAh battery will be enough according to the manufacturer.
Similarly to last year’s itinerary, there is going to be a launch event in India, the introduction of the global version of Xiaomi Mi 6X, the Mi A2 and probably also the new phone of Y series, the Xiaomi Y2.
